We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Cloud Platform Owner to take ownership of a global Microsoft cloud estate, providing governance, strategic direction and design authority across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and associated Azure services.
This is an initial 6 month contract operating outside IR35 for a global retail organisation. Based in Sussex/Surrey. Can be remote with occasional office visits for meetings.
This is a hands-on ownership role, responsible for ensuring Microsoft cloud services remain secure, well-governed, cost-effective and aligned to business priorities, whilst supporting migrations, driving adoption and continuous improvement across the platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the Microsoft 365 roadmap, covering Office, SharePoint Online, Teams and OneDrive.
- Act as the design authority across Microsoft 365 governance, standards, configuration and adoption.
- Provide oversight across Entra ID, Intune, identity services and related Azure platform dependencies (desirable).
- Govern platform security, compliance, access management and identity controls, including Conditional Access and Privileged Identity Management.
- Drive platform standardisation, automation and user adoption.
- Manage demand intake, prioritisation and governance of platform changes.
- Own Microsoft licensing governance, optimisation and cloud cost management.
- Support migration and transformation initiatives across collaboration, identity and endpoint services.

Experience Required
- Strong experience owning, managing or governing Microsoft cloud platforms within a large enterprise environment.
- Extensive Microsoft 365 experience, particularly around SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive and platform governance.
- Proven experience delivering or governing migrations into Microsoft 365 environments.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft cloud governance, security, compliance and licensing.
- Ideally experience delivering Microsoft 365 licensing transformation programmes, including E3 to E5 migrations.
- Experience working with Enterprise Architecture, Cyber Security, Infrastructure and operational support teams.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, identity governance and Conditional Access is highly desirable.
- Experience with Intune and endpoint management governance would be advantageous.
