Microsoft 365 & Power Platform Support Analyst

Location: Corsham or Bristol

Salary: £35,000–£45,000, depending on experience

Level: Junior to Intermediate

NexGen Associates is recruiting a Microsoft 365 & Power Platform Support Analyst to join a growing organisation delivering services across the defence and government sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone in the early stages of their Microsoft 365 and Power Platform career who has practical experience with Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, and Microsoft Lists.

The successful candidate will support teams in making better use of Microsoft 365 and Power Platform tools to improve reporting, collaboration, and everyday business processes. You will create straightforward digital solutions, provide user support, and help promote more efficient ways of working across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot basic Power Automate workflows.
  • Create and manage Microsoft Lists and SharePoint-based trackers.
  • Develop straightforward Power BI reports and dashboards to support team reporting requirements.
  • Help colleagues use Microsoft 365 applications more effectively.
  • Provide practical advice on Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, Microsoft Lists, and Teams.
  • Deliver informal training, demonstrations, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manual or inefficient processes through automation and digital tools.
  • Work with users to understand their requirements and translate them into practical solutions.
  • Produce clear user guides, process notes, and supporting documentation.
  • Provide ongoing support for existing Microsoft 365 and Power Platform solutions.
  • Promote consistent and effective use of digital tools across the business.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Practical experience using Microsoft 365 within a business environment.
  • Experience creating and managing Microsoft Lists.
  • Experience developing SharePoint-based trackers or similar solutions.
  • Experience building basic Power Automate flows.
  • Experience creating Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to explain technical subjects clearly to non-technical users.
  • Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • A willingness to learn and develop your Microsoft Power Platform capabilities.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working within defence, government, the public sector, or another regulated environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Power Apps.
  • Experience delivering user training, demonstrations, or technical support.
  • Experience identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • An understanding of data governance, information security, or access permissions.
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications or a willingness to work towards them.

The Ideal Candidate:

This role would suit someone who enjoys helping people and using technology to solve everyday business problems. You may currently be working in an IT support, Microsoft 365 support, data reporting, business systems, or junior Power Platform position and be looking for an opportunity to broaden your experience.

You do not need to be an advanced developer. The organisation is looking for someone with a solid foundation in Microsoft 365 and the confidence to create straightforward, practical solutions while continuing to develop their technical skills.
