M365 Security and Information Governance Consultant
Fully Remote | £35,000–£55,000
Nigel Frank is working with a growing technology consultancy looking to appoint an M365 Security and Information Governance Consultant.
This is an opportunity to work across Microsoft 365 security, Microsoft Purview and wider information-governance projects, supporting clients with practical improvements to their data protection, compliance and risk-management environments.
You will work alongside senior consultants on client engagements, helping to deliver and document solutions across Purview, Microsoft 365 and governance frameworks.
The role
- Support the delivery of Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 security projects.
- Assist with sensitivity labelling, data loss prevention, retention, eDiscovery, audit and information-protection workstreams.
- Help map client processes, identify risks and document governance requirements.
- Support the creation of risk registers, policies, procedures, controls and framework documentation.
- Gather requirements from clients and translate them into clear technical and governance actions.
- Assist with the configuration, testing and documentation of M365 and Purview solutions.
- Contribute to security and compliance assessments across client environments.
- Produce clear client-facing documentation, reports and recommendations.
- Work closely with senior consultants on more complex architecture, strategy and delivery work.

What we are looking for
- Commercial experience across Microsoft 365, security, compliance or information governance.
- Exposure to Microsoft Purview, including areas such as sensitivity labels, DLP, retention, eDiscovery or audit.
- Experience with process mapping, requirements gathering or documenting business and technical processes.
- Understanding of risk assessments, risk registers, controls, policies or governance frameworks.
- Strong written communication skills and confidence producing clear documentation.
- Comfortable working directly with clients and explaining technical concepts clearly.
- Organised, detail-focused and able to manage multiple tasks across different projects.
- Any experience with ISO 27001, GDPR, Microsoft Defender, Entra ID or wider M365 security would be beneficial.
