Job Description
Position Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Engineer to join our small, highly collaborative Cloud & Infrastructure team. While primary ownership centers on Microsoft 365 and SharePoint environments, you will also have opportunities to engage in broader initiatives aligned with your technical capabilities and organizational needs.
In this role, you will lead the architecture, configuration, migration, administration, and ongoing optimization of customer Microsoft 365 ecosystems—with a key emphasis on SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive. Operating across both project delivery and managed services, you will convert business needs into secure, maintainable solutions; execute legacy platform content migrations; automate core operations; and ensure environments are governed, documented, monitored, and seamlessly handed over to operations. You will partner closely with Technical Architects, Cloud & Infrastructure, End User Support, Security, Project Management, and Customer Delivery teams to deliver an exceptional, consistent client experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Technical Architects, Pre-Sales, and Project Managers to gather requirements and deploy Microsoft 365 & SharePoint solutions within target timelines and budgets.
- Architect, configure, and maintain SharePoint Online sites, navigation structures, metadata, content types, access permissions, and Microsoft 365 group integrations.
- Lead content migrations from legacy file shares, on-premises SharePoint, and other repositories into SharePoint Online and OneDrive, spanning discovery, remediation, migration, verification, cutover, and operational handover.
- Manage and administer core Microsoft 365 services—including SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online, and Entra ID—escalating complex infrastructure issues as required.
- Leverage PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API, and specialized migration tools to automate routine tasks, perform bulk updates, generate reports, and execute system remediation.
- Develop Power Automate workflows and facilitate the transition of legacy SharePoint workflows and forms to modern Microsoft 365 offerings.
- Establish robust governance frameworks covering site provisioning, ownership controls, external sharing, access audits, retention rules, lifecycle management, and data protection.
- Draft high-quality technical architecture documents, migration plans, test evidence, standard operating procedures, support guides, and knowledge base articles.
- Ensure operational readiness for new solutions by establishing agreed monitoring, support ownership, security safeguards, backup/retention rules, and escalation paths.
- Deliver root-cause diagnosis and resolution for escalated Microsoft 365 and SharePoint service incidents, problems, and change requests.
- Identify opportunities to standardize and automate customer Microsoft 365 environments to reduce operational effort while elevating quality and governance controls.
- Mentor and deliver knowledge transfer to 1st and 2nd Line support teams, enabling a shift-left model for routine operational tasks.
- Engage directly with client stakeholders, business site owners, and end users during discovery sessions, design workshops, UAT, cutover phases, and service reviews.
- Monitor Microsoft 365 roadmaps, security updates, feature deprecations, and new capabilities to evaluate their impact and value for customer environments.
- Travel to customer locations as required.
- Perform additional duties as reasonably directed by leadership.

Requirements & Qualifications
We invite applications from engineers meeting the following core qualifications:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience implementing and supporting Microsoft 365 and SharePoint architectures, ideally within an MSP or multi-tenant customer environment.
- Strong expertise in SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Microsoft 365 Groups, and Entra ID.
- Proven track record of delivering SharePoint migration projects, including discovery, permissions mapping, metadata configuration, version management, validation, and cutover execution.
- Proficiency with PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API; experience using migration utilities like ShareGate, Quest, or native Microsoft tooling is highly advantageous.
- Practical experience developing Power Automate workflows and modernizing legacy SharePoint forms and processes.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 security, compliance, data protection, retention policies, external sharing, and least-privilege security models.
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear technical documentation, project migration plans, test scripts, and client-facing summaries.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, utilizing a methodical, evidence-based approach to resolve technical problems.
- A mindset focused on automation, standardization, and scalability to improve service quality and efficiency.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-102, MS-700, PL-900) are highly desirable.
