Role Overview
As a Microsoft 365 Technical Specialist, you'll focus on the core productivity stack – Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Exchange Online and Viva – while also acting as a subject matter expert across Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
You'll be responsible for the implementation, configuration, migration, administration and optimisation of these services, helping customers maximise the value of their Microsoft investment.
This is a customer-facing Professional Services role where you'll deliver technical projects, support solution implementations and work closely with customers to solve business challenges through technology. From collaboration and productivity solutions to security, compliance and migration projects, you'll play a key role in helping organisations modernise the way they work.
This role is remote-first, with monthly travel to our Meppershall in Bedford office and occasional travel to customer sites.
Responsibilities
As a Microsoft 365 Technical Specialist you'll:
- Deliver Microsoft 365 implementation, migration and optimisation projects for customers.
- Act as a subject matter expert across Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Purview and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
- Implement collaboration and productivity solutions across Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Exchange Online and Viva.
- Configure and administer Microsoft Entra ID, including Conditional Access, authentication methods, hybrid identity and access management solutions.
- Configure and support Microsoft Purview solutions, including Information Protection, Data Loss Prevention, Retention, eDiscovery and Insider Risk Management.
- Deliver Microsoft 365 migration projects, including tenant-to-tenant, Google Workspace, on-premises, Exchange and file server migration programmes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across Microsoft 365 workloads.
- Conduct technical discovery activities, assessments, workshops and customer engagements.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation, implementation guides and operational handover documentation.
- Develop PowerShell-based automation and administration solutions.
- Contribute to service improvements, technical best practice and knowledge sharing across the team.
- Support less experienced engineers through mentoring and technical guidance.

Ideal Candidate Profile
You'll be someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, working directly with customers and taking ownership of delivery. You'll be confident explaining Microsoft 365 solutions in a clear and practical way and comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities at the same time.
You'll be joining a supportive team of Microsoft specialists where knowledge sharing, continuous learning and doing the right thing for the customer are genuinely valued.
We're looking for someone with strong experience designing, implementing and supporting Microsoft 365 solutions within customer-facing environments.

- Exchange Online administration, mail flow and migration activities.
- Microsoft Teams administration, policy configuration and governance.
- SharePoint Online administration, permissions management and migration activities.
- OneDrive for Business deployment and support.
- Microsoft 365 Groups governance and administration.
Identity and Access Management
- Microsoft Entra ID administration and configuration.
- Conditional Access and Multi-Factor Authentication.
- Passwordless authentication technologies.
- Hybrid identity and access management.
- Privileged Identity Management (PIM) and Identity Governance.
- External identities and B2B collaboration.
Security and Compliance
- Microsoft Purview Information Protection.
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
- Retention and data lifecycle management.
- eDiscovery, Communication Compliance and Sensitivity Labels.
Migrations and Delivery
- Tenant-to-tenant migrations.
- Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 migrations.
- On-premises to Microsoft 365 migrations.
- File server to SharePoint Online and OneDrive migrations.
- Customer-facing project delivery and professional services environments.
- Managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Automation
- PowerShell scripting and administration.
- Microsoft Graph PowerShell and automation solutions.

Additional Skills and Qualifications
- Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, MS-700, SC-300 or SC-401 – and if you don't have these yet, we'll help you work towards them.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot readiness and AI governance.
- Experience delivering technical workshops, training or adoption sessions.
- Knowledge of SharePoint information architecture and Teams governance.
