About the role:

We are seeking a commercially focused and strategically minded Business Development Director to drive the growth of Microsoft Solutions across the UK. This role is centred on identifying, shaping and converting new business opportunities by working closely across the Microsoft ecosystem and the PwC network, delivering value to clients through technology-enabled transformation.

As a member of the UK Alliances team, this role plays a key part in originating and progressing opportunities. The successful candidate will collaborate with Microsoft account teams, PwC Partners and Sector Leaders to develop compelling, client-focused solutions that address complex business challenges and deliver measurable outcomes.

Working closely with the Director of the Microsoft Alliance, this role contributes to the overall Microsoft Alliance targets through the origination of new sales opportunities and by providing strong pre-sales support across PwC teams. This includes helping to align client needs with Microsoft-enabled capabilities and supporting the development of integrated propositions that drive sustainable growth.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
