Microsoft Dynamics 365 Functional Consultant

We are working with a well-established UK organisation to recruit an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Functional Consultant to join their digital transformation team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded D365 professional to play a key role in shaping and delivering the organisation's digital strategy, working across Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform and Azure to develop scalable solutions that support critical business processes.

Working closely with senior digital leadership, you will translate complex business requirements into effective technology solutions, covering functional design, configuration, automation, integration, deployment and continuous improvement.

You will take a key role in the ongoing development of the D365 and Power Platform ecosystem, working closely with internal stakeholders, third-party suppliers and technology partners to deliver robust and innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage, configure and optimise Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform environments, ensuring secure and reliable operation of business-critical applications.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into scalable D365 and Power Platform solutions.
  • Design, configure and implement Dynamics 365 solutions, customisations, automations and applications.
  • Build and maintain Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse solutions.
  • Support the integration of D365 and Power Platform applications with other systems and third-party services.
  • Work with external suppliers and technology partners to ensure integrations and solutions are delivered effectively and to a high standard.
  • Provide functional and technical guidance to internal stakeholders across Dynamics 365 and the wider Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Support solution deployment, release management, QA and continuous improvement.
  • Keep up to date with developments across Dynamics 365, Power Platform and Azure, identifying opportunities to introduce new capabilities and best practice.
  • Support training and knowledge sharing with end users.
  • Contribute to agile project delivery and wider digital transformation initiatives.
  • Provide ongoing support for business-critical applications and proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.

About you

We're looking for an experienced Dynamics 365 professional who combines strong functional expertise with the ability to understand business challenges and translate them into practical technology solutions.

You should have:

  • Extensive experience configuring and customising Microsoft Dynamics 365 within complex organisations.
  • Strong experience across the Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse.
  • Experience gathering and analysing business requirements and translating them into scalable solutions.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Logic Apps and Azure Blob Storage.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and structured solution deployment and release processes.
  • Experience working with REST APIs and third-party integrations.
  • Proven experience supporting business-critical applications.
  • Experience working within agile project environments, including QA and release management.
  • A Microsoft certification in Dynamics 365, Power Platform or Azure.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Desirable experience

  • Dynamics 365 Sales and Customer Engagement.
  • Dynamics 365 Customer Insights - Journeys.
  • Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or Business Central.
  • Dataflows and Power BI.
  • Dynamics 365 within membership, charity, non-profit or similar organisations.
