Project Overview
A global FMCG business is launching Microsoft Fabric and looking for a developer to join their data team. The gig involves delivering data engineering and visualisation projects on the new Microsoft Fabric platform, helping to establish best practices and shaping how the business adopts this technology.
- Location: Scotland
- Duration: Initial 6 months, high probability to extend
- Rate: Flexible (£400-£450) depending on years of experience
- IR35: Outside, pending final determination
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver data engineering and visualisation projects within Microsoft Fabric.
- Build and maintain data pipelines, lakehouses, and data models in Fabric.
- Design and build Power BI reports and dashboards that effectively meet business needs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into reliable reporting.
- Support the team in setting up good practices as Microsoft Fabric is implemented.

Required Skills and Experience
- 3 to 5 years' experience in data engineering and visualisation.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Strong Power BI skills, including data modelling and DAX.
- Good working knowledge of Azure data services.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to stakeholders.
Deliverables
- Implemented data pipelines, lakehouses, and models in Microsoft Fabric.
- Power BI reports and dashboards tailored to business requirements.
- Established data engineering and visualisation best practices related to Microsoft Fabric.
Salary
£400 - £450 GBP Per day
