Senior MIM Engineer

Location: Manchester & Inverness
Salary: Up to £80,000 plus bonus, perks & healthcare options
Job Type: Permanent | On-site

Requirements: Candidates must be BPSS eligible

We’re looking for a Senior MIM Engineer to join an experienced Identity and Access Management team, providing L2/L3 support across a highly customised Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) environment.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys getting into complex identity issues, troubleshooting technical problems and finding permanent solutions. You’ll work closely with security, infrastructure and operational teams to keep critical identity services stable, secure and performing effectively.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide L2/L3 support for a highly customised Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) environment
  • Support identity lifecycle management, provisioning and synchronisation services
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex IAM incidents
  • Carry out root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes
  • Support integrations across Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and other identity platforms
  • Maintain technical documentation, procedures and support runbooks
  • Identify opportunities for automation, service improvement and platform optimisation

What we’re looking for:

  • Extensive hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) in an enterprise environment
  • Strong experience with highly customised MIM implementations
  • Proven L2/L3 support experience within business-critical IAM environments
  • Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management, including Joiner, Mover and Leaver processes, Identity Lifecycle Management and Access Governance
  • Strong Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and hybrid identity experience
  • PowerShell scripting experience
  • Ability to review and troubleshoot C#/.NET code used within MIM customisations
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
