Microsoft Infrastructure Consultant
💰 £50,000 to £60,000 with some flexibility for the right person
📍 UK remote with very occasional travel to their Scotland office

This opportunity sits with a long established Microsoft partner delivering consultancy, project work and managed services to clients across the public and private sectors, ranging from mid sized organisations through to large enterprise.
The role sits inside the managed services division, but it is a project team rather than a support function. You will be picking up design and implementation engagements for customers the business already supports, which means you get the context of a known environment and the room to actually improve it rather than working through a ticket queue.
The team carries a deliberately broad mix of skills, so no two engagements look the same. They are hiring because project demand from the existing customer base has outgrown what the team can currently deliver.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement Microsoft cloud and infrastructure solutions across Azure, Microsoft 365 and hybrid environments.
- Take engagements from design through to delivery for existing managed services customers, working to a defined scope rather than an open ended backlog.
- Build and improve identity and access platforms, including Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid identity, Conditional Access and privileged access controls.
- Deliver across networking, firewalls, backup and disaster recovery where engagements call for it.
- Automate deployment and operational tasks using PowerShell and infrastructure as code approaches.
- Work alongside consultants, project managers and service teams so that what gets designed is what actually gets delivered.
- Produce clear design documentation and technical handover material for the teams supporting the environment afterwards.
- Contribute to internal standards, reusable build patterns and shared technical knowledge.

Ideal Experience
- Strong design and implementation experience across either Azure infrastructure or Microsoft 365, with real exposure to the other.
- Hands on delivery of cloud and hybrid infrastructure projects, ideally within a Microsoft partner, MSP or consultancy environment.
- Solid grounding in Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid identity and modern endpoint or workload management.
- Experience across two or more of Azure Virtual Desktop or Windows 365, Windows Server, Azure networking, backup and disaster recovery, and Microsoft security tooling such as Defender.
- PowerShell scripting, with exposure to infrastructure as code concepts.
- Comfortable working directly with customers, explaining design decisions and holding a technical conversation without a project manager in the room.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications are useful, but evidence of real delivery matters more.
