Job Title: Microsoft Licensing Specialist Location: UK (Hybrid & Remote working available) Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week Salary: Up to £40,000 + Bonus structure

Focus of the Role
This is a commercially focused, customer-facing role centered on maximising the value of Microsoft licensing across BCN’s customer base.
As the Microsoft Licensing Specialist, you will act as a subject matter expert (SME) in Microsoft 365 and the New Commerce Experience (NCE), combining deep licensing knowledge with a consultative approach. Your role involves:
- Driving optimisation, upsell, and cross-sell opportunities
- Collaborating with Sales, Pre-Sales, Marketing, and Microsoft to identify and exploit growth potential
- Translating licensing conversations into broader digital transformation outcomes

- Act as a subject matter expert in Microsoft 365 and NCE licensing
- Provide strategic guidance to clients on:
- Licensing optimisation
- Cost management
- Aligning solutions with business outcomes
- Support customers transitioning to or operating within NCE frameworks
- Stay updated on Microsoft pricing changes, licensing updates, and new product releases
🔹 Revenue Growth & Opportunity Creation
- Identify and drive upsell and cross-sell opportunities, such as:
- Business Premium
- E5 Security
- Use licensing insights to uncover opportunities in:
- Modern Work
- Security
- Azure
- Data & AI
- Collaborate with Sales and Pre-Sales to convert opportunities into revenue
- Expand on licensing engagements to open up wider professional services opportunities
🔹 Customer Engagement & Planning
- Support strategic customer engagement, including:
- Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs)
- Account planning
- Align licensing strategies with customer transformation roadmaps
- Serve as a trusted advisor to both technical and commercial stakeholders
🔹 Campaigns & Growth Initiatives
- Contribute to targeted campaigns like the Business Premium and E5 upsell
- Work with Marketing and Sales to:
- Prioritise high-value accounts
- Drive engagement strategies
- Help develop value-led messaging and customer propositions
🔹 Microsoft Alignment & Co-Sell
- Support co-sell opportunities with Microsoft, including:
- Qualification of accounts
- Positioning for joint solutions
- Participate in joint account planning and engagement strategies
- Track and report on opportunities while ensuring alignment with Microsoft programmes and priorities
🔹 Internal Enablement
- Act as the internal licensing SME for:
- Sales
- Account Management
- Deliver training and enablement sessions
- Assist in playbook development
- Continuously build and update Microsoft certifications to stay ahead

✅ Essential
- Strong experience in Microsoft licensing within a CSP, MSP, or reseller environment
- Deep understanding of:
- Microsoft 365
- NCE licensing models
- Proven ability to identify and drive upsell and cross-sell opportunities
- Strong customer-facing and consultative skills
- Commercial awareness, including understanding incentives and deal positioning
- Ability to collaborate across sales, alliances, and Microsoft stakeholders
🔹 Desirable
- Experience with Microsoft co-sell motions
- Knowledge of:
- Server licensing (Windows Server, SQL)
- Hybrid licensing models
- Familiarity with Azure consumption/licensing
- Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-900)
- Experience contributing to:
- Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs)
- Strategic account planning
