Microsoft Technology Account Lead (MTAL) – UK Retail & Consumer Goods Industry
Role Summary
The Microsoft Technology Account Lead (MTAL) is a senior consulting and business leadership role responsible for growing Microsoft-related services across named Retail & Consumer Goods accounts. The role combines sales accountability, client relationship leadership, and technology advisory to drive revenue growth, strategic client outcomes, and Microsoft platform adoption.
The MTAL works closely with Accenture Account Leadership, Microsoft, and Avanade to define and execute account-specific Microsoft strategies, helping clients accelerate business transformation through AI, Data, Cloud, Business Applications, Security, and Modern Workplace solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Account Strategy & Leadership
- Own the Microsoft strategy and growth agenda in assigned Retail & Consumer Industry accounts.
- Develop and execute account plans based on client priorities and Microsoft platform opportunities.
- Act as the trusted Microsoft advisor to enterprise client CxOs, and Accenture leadership.
- Demonstrate practical experience in at least two Retail & Consumer Goods priority areas, such as consumer engagement, loyalty, retail operations, supply chain resilience, trade promotion, revenue growth management, frontline productivity, sustainability, or data-driven decision making.
- Orchestrate Accenture, Avanade, and Microsoft stakeholders to create aligned account plans, propositions, and pursuit strategies.
Sales, Growth & Revenue
- Own Microsoft-related sales, pipeline, revenue targets across assigned accounts, with accountability for qualified growth and conversion.
- Originate, shape, and close strategic Microsoft transformation opportunities.
- Drive co-sell motions with Microsoft and identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities across the Microsoft portfolio.
- Maximise Microsoft investments, incentives, and partnership opportunities to accelerate growth.
Consulting-Led Client Engagement
- Leverage consulting expertise to translate business challenges into Microsoft-enabled transformation roadmaps.
- Lead AI-reinvention opportunities by translating GenAI, agents, data platforms, and automation into business outcomes.
- Lead executive discussions around AI, customer experience, supply chain, data, and digital transformation.
- Bring industry insights and innovation to help clients achieve measurable business outcomes.
- Collaborate across Accenture capabilities, including Song, Industry & Enterprise, Data & AI, and Avanade, to shape industry-relevant solutions to client problems.

Qualifications
Experience & Qualifications
- Strong consulting background within a leading management consulting firm, or Global Systems Integrator.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and revenue targets, driving sustained growth, and building executive relationships within Retail & Consumer Goods.
- Experience leading complex business and technology transformation programmes.
- Executive presence with the ability to engage and influence C-suite stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft technologies, including Azure, Copilot, Fabric, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and AI.
