Location: Bury (BL9)
Flexible working: Core hours 9:30am–2:00pm, Monday–Friday

About the role

We’re looking for a mid-level PHP Developer (Laravel) to join our in-house development team, working on business-critical internal web applications and systems.

This is a hands-on development role with real ownership. You’ll work closely with colleagues and internal stakeholders in a collaborative, customer-facing environment, helping translate business requirements into practical, well-built technical solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain web applications using PHP and Laravel
  • Build and enhance internal systems and business tools
  • Write and optimise SQL queries against relational databases
  • Support and improve live production systems
  • Work within MVC architecture and clean coding principles
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver solutions
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and processes
  • Support light frontend development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Vue.js

Essential skills & experience

  • Commercial experience with PHP
  • Hands-on experience with Laravel
  • Commercial experience using Vue 3 and the Composition API
  • Experience using TypeScript
  • Experience working with SQL databases
  • Experience supporting production systems
  • Understanding of MVC architecture
  • Familiarity with Git and version control
  • Comfortable working with APIs, including GraphQL
  • Experience writing feature tests using PHPUnit
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with non-technical stakeholders
