About the Role

You'll join our QA team as a hands-on tester, working closely with Engineering, Product and Design. You'll own the testing for the features you pick up, from the first conversation about what we're building through to release.

You'll be supported by Tom, our CTO, and work day to day alongside our QA engineers and the wider Engineering team. It's a great fit for someone who's confident running their own testing and wants to grow, whether that's into automation, deeper accessibility work, or helping shape how we test as the team expands.

What You'll Be Doing

Day to day, you'll be:

• Joining three amigos sessions with an engineer and product manager before work starts, asking the awkward questions and agreeing what good looks like
• Writing test plans and working through them as features land, checking not just that things work, but that they make sense to use
• Testing across browsers and devices in BrowserStack, and adding to our reusable test suite
• Raising clear tickets with replication steps, and working with engineers to get issues fixed
• Checking our products against WCAG and making sure they work for people using assistive technology
• Automating the checks that don't need a human, using tools like Playwright and AI-assisted testing, so you can spend your time on the ones that do
• Flagging risks in stand-ups, planning and retros before they become problems
• Sharing what you learn with the wider QA team, and suggesting better ways of doing things when you spot them

About You

You'll likely be a great fit if you have:

• Hands-on, commercial experience of manual end-to-end and regression testing (functional and non-functional)
• Written test plans and bug tickets that both engineers and non-technical colleagues can act on
• Tested across browsers and devices, using tools such as BrowserStack or similar
• Tested against WCAG or other accessibility standards
• Used testing tools such as Playwright or Cypress, Postman or similar, and are comfortable with basic JavaScript scripting
• Some experience of automated testing, even if it has not been the main part of your role
• Used Git and a bug tracking or test management tool such as Linear or Jira
• Worked in an Agile team, ideally Scrum
• Owned the testing for features from requirements through to release

It's a bonus if you:

• Have built or maintained automated test suites
• Have used AI tools to build out test suites, and have a view on where they help and where they don't
• Bring an interest in or experience of neurodiversity, accessibility or workplace inclusion

This is a mid level role, so we don't expect you to have done it all. If you've got a solid testing foundation and want to build your skills in automation and AI-assisted testing, we'll support you to grow with the team. If you enjoy finding ways to break software (in a good way!) and care about the people using it, you'll fit in well.

Our Hiring Process

We aim to keep things straightforward and respectful of your time. Please apply with your CV and a short cover note. We will undertake an initial review of your application, if successful:

• A first conversation with the hiring manager (20 minutes)
• A follow-up interview (virtual, 50 minutes)
• A final in-person session including a short practical task and time to meet the team

Location

This role needs you in our Bristol office at least two days a week. We can only consider applications from people who already live within commuting distance, or who are actively in the process of relocating to the Bristol area.
