Your Responsibilities
The purpose of this role is to play a leading role in the development and execution of Lockton's Mid-Market Placement proposition. Working closely with clients, insurers, producers, and placement colleagues, the successful candidate will help deliver exceptional placement outcomes, drive proposition development, support the growth of Lockton's Mid-Market P&C facilities, and contribute to the continued expansion of Lockton's Mid-Market business.
The role combines technical insurance expertise, strategic market engagement, and client advocacy to ensure Lockton delivers differentiated risk transfer solutions, market-leading service, and sustainable growth within the Mid-Market segment.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Placement Delivery
- Act as lead broker for Mid-Market Property, Casualty, and Motor placements.
- Design and execute placement strategies that deliver optimum coverage, pricing, and programme structure.
- Provide technical broking support across new business, renewals, and programme redesign projects.
- Advise client teams on market conditions, insurer appetite, and risk transfer solutions.
- Support placements through collaboration across Lockton's network.
- Ensure high standards of contract certainty, placement documentation, and policy construction.

Insurer & Market Engagement
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Insurers.
- Lead insurer negotiations across Property, Casualty, and Motor programmes.
- Build and deliver insurer engagement plans for key strategic carriers.
- Contribute to quarterly insurer meetings and market engagement sessions.
- Monitor market trends, capacity changes, and emerging opportunities.
- Act as a key point of contact for placement-related insurer discussions and escalations.
Growth & Business Development
- Support the continued development of Lockton's Mid-Market placement proposition.
- Participate in tenders, prospect meetings, and client presentations.
- Assist in developing innovative placement solutions and facilities where appropriate.
- Contribute to growth initiatives through market intelligence, benchmarking, and thought leadership.
- Identify opportunities to enhance client outcomes through programme optimisation and alternative placement structures.
- Support cross-selling opportunities across Lockton's wider service offerings.

Qualifications
We're looking for a technically strong and commercially focused broker who enjoys building relationships, negotiating with insurers, and delivering exceptional outcomes for clients. You'll be confident operating in a fast-paced environment and passionate about helping shape the future of Lockton's Mid-Market proposition.
Skills & Experience
- Progression towards ACII qualification.
- Proven experience placing Property and Casualty business within the Mid-Market segment.
- Exposure to Motor fleet placements and associated insurer markets.
- Strong understanding of insurer appetites, underwriting approaches, and market dynamics.
- Demonstrable negotiation skills and ability to achieve favourable placement outcomes.
- Commercially minded with strong client advocacy skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong relationship-building capabilities with clients and insurers.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to utilise data to support placement decisions.
