The Opportunity

Default Office is a fast-growing industrial design practice working across technology, climate and energy sectors, consumer goods and homeware. Our designers and engineers work collaboratively with industry-leading clients, global companies and emerging startups to redefine the standard, and combine creative, innovative ideas with strategic, logical thinking.

We are looking for a talented mid-weight designer to join our team to work across every part of our design process, from early research and mapping, strategy and ideation, through to design development, CAD and prototyping, DfM and CGI/Visualisation.

You will be working directly with the directors, alongside our close-knit team in our Chiswick office.

Must haves

• 3-4+ years of industry experience post graduation
• A creative attitude, with the ability to work logically and think systematically
• Able to work collaboratively within a small team, managing client and team feedback
• Strong surfacing and parametric CAD skills in SolidWorks, and Adobe fluency
• Exceptional Keyshot visualisation skills, across lighting, materials and composition
• Rapid prototyping skills including 3D printing and card modelling
• Good sketching and visual communication skills
• Ability to present work and concepts creatively, beautifully and clearly
• Strong time and project management skills, adaptively working to project needs
• Passionate About Learning New Skills And Exploring Creative Technologies
• Fluency in English, with the right to work in the UK
