Mid-Weight Product Designer – Design Systems
The Role
As a Mid-Weight Product Designer, you will create intuitive, accessible and high-quality digital products, with a particular focus on mobile app experiences and scalable design systems. Working within cross-functional teams, you will contribute across the end-to-end product design process, from understanding user and business needs through to defining journeys, developing interaction patterns, prototyping solutions, testing ideas and supporting delivery. You will work closely with senior designers, researchers, product managers, engineers and technologists to turn insight into clear, evidence-led design decisions.
You will bring strong hands-on experience designing for iOS and Android, together with a practical understanding of how design systems improve consistency, accessibility, quality and delivery across products. You will be confident using established systems, creating reusable components and patterns, and contributing to system documentation and governance. Our practice is formed around three core pillars: Clients, Craft and Culture.
Clients
- Build an understanding of client objectives, user needs, product goals and the wider market context.
- Independently deliver high-quality product design work for defined areas of a project.
- Clearly communicate the rationale behind product, interaction and visual design decisions.
- Present work to clients and stakeholders, responding constructively to feedback.
- Participate in workshops, collaborative design sessions and product discussions.
- Balance user needs, business objectives, platform conventions and technical considerations.
Craft
- Translate research findings, data and business requirements into meaningful product opportunities.
- Design end-to-end mobile app experiences, including journeys, task flows, navigation, wireframes, interaction patterns and high-fidelity interfaces.
- Apply iOS and Android conventions appropriately while maintaining a coherent product experience across platforms.
- Create responsive, accessible and implementation-ready designs in Figma.
- Use and extend established design systems to create consistent, scalable experiences.
- Design reusable components, variants, states and patterns, working closely with engineers to ensure they are feasible and robust.
- Contribute to design-system documentation, adoption and governance, including guidance on component usage and accessibility.
- Create interactive prototypes to explore concepts, communicate intent and test assumptions.
- Plan and support usability testing, using findings to iterate and improve designs.
- Work closely with researchers, product managers and engineers throughout discovery, design and delivery.
- Take ownership of defined product areas while seeking guidance when appropriate.
- Share knowledge, provide constructive feedback and support the development of less-experienced colleagues.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
