Role Overview

This role is based in either Newcastle or London on a hybrid contract (in office Monday, Wednesday, Friday every week). This opportunity is open for contract and/or full-time. A more time-critical element is supporting with the setup and launch of Scoro; anyone with Scoro experience would be an advantage and would be asked to work from the London office initially to support closely with change management.

Project Management Within Client Services

The role of client services is to be trusted partners to both the client and the Seymourpowell creative team. This role is a blend of relationships and delivery, with the goals to:

  • To create, maintain and grow enduring, mutually beneficial relationships between Seymourpowell and our client companies.
  • To develop, organise and manage the processes to support the high-quality delivery of client work.

This role is a mix of both account and project management, and requires a sound understanding of PM practices. The chosen candidate will be required to travel between the three Seymourpowell office locations (London, Stirling, and Newcastle), with future opportunities to travel abroad.

Mid-Weight Project Manager Responsibilities

Account Management

  • Client support for key clients, working with the Client Services Directors and other business Directors to manage and support growth of client partnerships.
  • Embed your relationship with clients so that you become an integral part of their business unit circle – the client proxy – and more importantly, part of their integral strategic design and delivery team.
  • Expand and develop knowledge of our clients’ businesses and their brands, goals, ambitions, opportunities, challenges and maintain an awareness of competitive products and industry trends to continually inform project or product direction and working as part of the SP team to build strategic product, project and programme roadmaps.
  • Lead mid-sized client accounts with the support of the Senior Client Directors.

Project Management

  • Management of time and third-party cost budgets ensuring recovery of target margin.
  • Liaising with commercial decision makers to validate decisions and judgements.
  • Writing of detailed project plans, SOWs and timelines, ensuring high-quality delivery to agreed brief and deadlines.
  • Management of risks that may arise throughout the project duration.
  • Provide input into product vision and direction for key product capabilities, working closely with the client team to understand business and customer needs to deliver best-in-class user experiences with the appropriate project management framework.
  • Work closely with client teams and Senior Client Directors to develop and then translate roadmaps and briefs into detailed activities and tasks, and work with internal cross-functional team members to execute and deliver to the highest quality.
  • Communicate and liaise with the cross-functional team and on behalf of the team to stakeholders, ensuring alignment on goals and tactics.
  • Strong passion and experience in processes and workflows, particularly in Scoro for support in setup and ongoing iterations while the tool is rolled out across the business.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • Experience and proven success in delivering a variety of projects in an agency environment, across all channels including digital.
  • Good interpersonal skills to get the best out all teams across the business.
  • Proficient project management skills and an understanding of processes and frameworks including waterfall and agile, with the ability to manage multiple projects and work streams – qualifications preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent communication/writing skills and effective at communicating with and presenting to clients and project team.
  • Ability to manage commercial and financial aspects of project delivery.
  • Ability to support development of presentations and input to strategic and creative presentations with credibility and gravitas.
  • Highly organised individual with initiative and ability to provide consistent communication, project status and financial updates internally and externally.
  • A passion for innovation and design.
