Are you an experienced Safety Professional with a background in Defence programmes? We're partnering with a leading client to find a SC cleared MIDAS Safety Manager for an exciting opportunity based in Bristol, with flexible hybrid working. If you hold SC clearance and have a solid track record managing safety compliance within Defence, this role could be your next career move.

Role Overview

This position involves working across the Mission Planning, Identification, Defensive Aids and Survivability (MIDAS) team, supporting the delivery of mission-critical equipment on Maritime Platforms and Aircraft. As Safety Manager, you'll provide expert guidance to ensure complex systems are delivered safely, compliant with Defence standards, and operate within ALARP principles throughout their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety Management & Assurance: Lead the development, maintenance, and assurance of Safety Assessments, Hazard Logs, and Safety Management Plans, ensuring compliance to policies.
  • Compliance & Governance: Verify project adherence to UK/EU legislation, Defence Standards (notably DEF STAN 00-056), and NAD policies.
  • Hazard Identification: Facilitate hazard analysis processes such as HAZOP, FTA, and FMEA, deriving safety and environmental requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as safety SME, presenting evidence-based safety arguments to senior stakeholders including Chief Engineers, Duty Holders, and suppliers.
  • Supporting Safety Governance: Advising the Chief Engineer, compiling safety data, supporting Safety Panels, and managing relevant safety registers.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
