Job Title: Midday Assistant

Location: Waterloo Lodge School, Chorley, Lancashire PR6 7AX

Hours: 8 hours per week | Monday - Thursday | 11.30am - 1.30pm

Salary: £4,727.60 per annum (not pro rata)

Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

Start: October 2026

About The Role

Waterloo Lodge School is looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Midday Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is a rewarding opportunity to play an important role in creating a safe, positive and enjoyable lunchtime experience for our pupils.

As a Midday Assistant, you'll help ensure children are well supported during lunch, encourage positive behaviour and good manners, and contribute to the welcoming and nurturing environment that makes our school a great place to learn and grow.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Supervising pupils during lunchtime and ensuring their safety and wellbeing
  • Supporting children in the dining area and encouraging positive behaviour and table manners
  • Assisting with serving meals and promoting healthy eating habits
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety
  • Helping to create a calm, positive and inclusive lunchtime environment
  • Providing basic first aid support when required and reporting any incidents appropriately
  • Working closely with teaching staff and school leaders to support pupils' needs
  • Contributing positively to the wider school community and ethos

About Us

Waterloo Lodge School is an independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged 11 to 17, catering primarily for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), many of whom may also have additional complex needs. We support pupils from Lancashire and the surrounding areas.
