Position Summary
Brunswick’s Middle School seeks an exceptional science educator for the 2026-2027 academic year as a long-term leave replacement substitute, from October 5, 2026 - November 24, 2026. We seek an educator who possesses both technical expertise and a genuine commitment to our mission of preparing boys for life through rigorous academic instruction, mentorship, and co-curricular involvement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach four classes of physics, following lesson plans and curriculum aligned with Brunswick’s curriculum standards and mission.
- Assess student learning through varied methods and provide constructive, encouraging, and corrective feedback.
- Be accessible to students through school-appropriate communication platforms or scheduled office hours, including arranging additional time for appointments when necessary.
- Serve as an advisor to a group of students, providing guidance and support.
- Communicate regularly with families about student progress.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Math, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Demonstrated excellence in Middle School instruction.
- Commitment to boys’ education and alignment with the school’s mission and values.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Primary work in traditional classroom settings with whiteboards, technology, and student desks.
- Teaching schedule typically during standard school hours with additional time for preparation, grading, and meetings.
- Collaborative environment requiring regular interaction with students, colleagues, families, and administrators.
- Professional dress and conduct expected as a role model for students.
- Ability to stand and move around the classroom for extended periods during instruction.
- Ability to supervise students in various settings including classrooms, dining hall, athletic fields, and co-curricular activities.
