Reciprocal Space

Reciprocal Space is a world-leading science communication and design studio based in London. We help biotech, pharmaceutical and medtech companies communicate their science, technologies, products and services through high-end visual design.

Our work sits at the interface of creative design, scientific precision and visual storytelling, spanning presentations, web design, animation, illustration, infographics, branding, video, VR/AR and interactive experiences.

We are expanding our team and have a vacancy for a full-time Mid–Senior Web & Presentation Designer.

This is a 100% in-person position based at our London office, where you will work closely with our team of designers, animators and scientists.


Who you are

You are an experienced multidisciplinary designer with a strong portfolio across web, UI/UX and presentation design. You combine excellent visual craft with the ability to make complicated information simple, intuitive and engaging.

You have:

  • 4+ years of professional design experience within an agency, studio or in-house creative team at a Biotech/Pharma/Healthcare company
  • A strong portfolio of website, UI/UX and presentation design
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, including responsive design, components and design systems
  • Familiarity with implementation software such as Framer or basics of CSS/Java/HTML is a strong plus
  • Strong experience designing presentations, pitch decks and corporate communications
  • Excellent typography, composition, visual hierarchy and information design skills
  • Experience taking websites from wireframes through to polished responsive designs
  • The ability to transform complex scientific, technical or commercial information into clear visual narratives
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Figma Slides
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation and communication skills
  • A proactive, collaborative and positive “can do” personality
  • Previous experience in biotech, pharma, medtech, healthcare or another complex technical sector is required. A scientific degree is desirable but not required if extensive experience in the life science sector is demonstrated.

What you will be doing

  • Designing sophisticated websites and digital experiences for biotech, pharma and medtech companies
  • Creating investor presentations, pitch decks, scientific presentations and corporate decks
  • Developing sitemaps, wireframes, UI/UX concepts and high-fidelity responsive designs
  • Turning complex scientific and technical content into compelling visual stories
  • Creating diagrams, infographics, data visualisations and other information-rich graphics
  • Developing and applying brand and design systems across web and presentations
  • Working closely with our scientists, designers, animators and developers
  • Presenting concepts and design thinking internally and to clients
  • Taking ownership of projects from brief through to final delivery

At the Senior level, you will also take greater ownership of creative direction, lead client-facing design discussions, oversee larger projects and help maintain an exceptional standard of design across the studio.
