About the Role
The Midstream Operations Manager is accountable for the safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of fuel across bp’s UK inland supply network. The role leads fuel supply operations covering primary transport, terminal supply, pipeline movements, third-party terminal operations, and logistics support for retail, aviation, commercial, and wholesale customers.
The position is responsible for delivering resilient fuel supply through effective operational leadership, asset optimization, partner management, crisis response, and continuous improvement, while supporting bp’s strategic objectives.
What You Will Deliver
- Ensure safe and reliable fuel supply through pipeline, marine, terminal, and road transport networks.
- Handle operational performance, supply disruptions, and business continuity incidents.
- Optimize supply chain efficiency, asset utilization, and operating costs.
- Lead relationships with terminal operators, pipeline operators, logistics providers, government agencies, and internal partners.
- Drive compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Support infrastructure projects, new supply routes, and network resilience initiatives.
- Lead crisis management and operational response during supply incidents or market disruptions.
- Use data, analytics, and improvement methodologies to enhance operational performance.
- Develop and coach team members while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
What You Will Need to Be Successful
- Extensive experience in fuel supply, logistics, supply chain, or operations management.
- Strong understanding of petroleum supply networks and logistics operations.
- Confirmed leadership experience in complex operational and incident management environments.
- Strong commercial competence with excellent stakeholder management and decision-making skills.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across operational, commercial, and senior leadership teams.

- Midstream Operations Team
- Leadership and development of the team.
- UK Midstream Squad
- Alignment with the wider team to deliver integrated operational performance.
- Supply, Trading & Shipping (ST&S)
- Deliver and support the commercial strategy established by 25NC.
- Mobility & Convenience (M&C)
- Partner with key internal customers to ensure operational excellence and supply reliability.
- Finance
- Deliver accurate budget management, forecasting, and performance commentary.
- HSSE, Marine, Vetting, Cargo Assurance & Quality
- Leverage specialist expertise and support to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient operations across the fuel supply network.
