About GBM Group
So who is GBM Group? Well, you probably already know who we are without realising it.
We own and operate a network of highly engaged youth communities across social media, including Great British Memes, That Girl Page, That Student Page and more. Across our channels, we reach hundreds of millions of people every month, with the vast majority of our audience based in the UK.
We make content for people who are chronically online - which means we have to understand what makes them stop scrolling, what makes them share, what makes them laugh and, most importantly, what makes something feel genuinely native to the platform.
We work with some of the world's biggest brands to turn ideas into social-first content.
We're fast, we're hands-on, and we're not particularly interested in doing things just because "that's how they've always been done."
If you’ve spent enough time in a Corporate Jail and you’re now looking for somewhere you can get stuck in, make things happen and have more fun doing it, read on.
The Role
We're looking for a Midweight Creative Producer who can take an idea from a line on a page all the way through to something you can watch.
This is a production-led creative role. We're looking for someone who genuinely knows how to make things happen - someone who can plan a shoot, build a production plan, work out what we need, brief the right people, get on set, direct contributors, troubleshoot when things go wrong, and make sure we leave with the content we need.
You'll be involved from the very beginning of a project, contributing to the creative concept and helping shape ideas so they're not only good creatively, but actually makeable, shootable and built for social.
You'll work across branded campaigns, social-first content, reactive ideas, pitches and internal projects, collaborating closely with the wider Brand & Content team.
We want someone who wants to make the thing.
You should be comfortable moving between the creative and the practical - concepting an idea in the morning, sorting a call sheet in the afternoon and directing a shoot the next day.
You'll need a sharp understanding of social platforms, formats, audiences and culture, but equally important is knowing how to turn a good idea into something that can actually be produced, and delivered.
What you'll be doing
Creative & Concepting
- Get involved early in the creative process, helping develop ideas from initial brief through to final execution.
- Contribute to creative brainstorms, pitches and campaign concepts, bringing ideas that are original, culturally relevant and built for social.
- Help turn client briefs into ideas that feel native to the platforms and communities we're creating for.
- Challenge ideas from a production perspective - making sure concepts are ambitious but achievable.
- Think about how an idea should actually be made, shot, edited and distributed from the outset.
- Develop treatments, creative approaches, moodboards, references and production plans to bring ideas to life.
- Understand what makes content work on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and how creative needs to adapt accordingly.
Production
- Own productions from planning through to delivery.
- Develop production schedules, shot lists, call sheets, crew requirements, locations, casting and logistics.
- Source and brief photographers, videographers, editors, stylists, talent, creators and other freelancers where required.
- Lead and attend shoots, making sure everything runs to plan and the creative vision is delivered.
- Direct talent, contributors and creators on set and confidently communicate what we need from everyone involved.
- Be hands-on with shooting when required - whether that's a larger branded production, a quick social shoot, vox pops or reactive content.
- Problem-solve on the day and keep productions moving when things inevitably don't go according to plan.
- Make sure we capture everything required for the edit, including platform-specific formats, cutdowns, stills and additional assets.
- Manage post-production workflows, working with editors and other creatives to get projects over the line.
- Review edits and give clear, constructive feedback to ensure the final product delivers against the original idea.
- Keep projects moving against deadlines, budgets and client expectations.
- Take ownership of the details without losing sight of the bigger creative picture.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Understand how audiences behave differently across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, Facebook, Reddit.
- Identify trends, formats, creators, cultural moments and reactive opportunities that could become content.

- Collaborate with clients, agencies, creators and production partners when required.
- Help present creative ideas and production approaches internally and externally.

What we're looking for
We're looking for someone with real-world production experience, not just someone who has managed creative projects from behind a desk. Someone who has experience both behind and in front of the camera. You’ll be on camera frequently during this role so experience in hosting and being in content is key.
You might have come from an agency, production company, publisher, social studio, media company or brand environment. Wherever you've come from, you'll need to be able to demonstrate that you've actually been involved in making things happen.
You'll ideally have:
- 3-5+ years' experience across creative production, branded content, social content or a related environment.
- Proven experience planning and delivering shoots from start to finish.
- Experience working with crews, freelancers, talent, creators and production suppliers.
- Confidence directing shoots and contributors.
- Experience creating production schedules, call sheets, shot lists and budgets.
- A strong understanding of the practical realities of production - locations, crew, kit, timings, permissions, casting, logistics and post-production.
- Hands-on shooting experience
- A strong understanding of social-first video production and what works across different platforms.
- Experience contributing to creative concepts, treatments and pitches.
- The ability to look at a creative idea and immediately start thinking about how you'd make it real.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to deal with clients, talent, crew and internal teams.
- An eye for detail without getting bogged down in it.
- A practical, solutions-first mindset.
- Strong editing literacy and ideally hands-on experience with tools such as CapCut, Premiere Pro or similar.
- A genuine interest in internet culture, creators, entertainment, social trends and youth culture.
- The confidence to get involved creatively, but the production brain to know what will actually work.

The kind of person we're after
We're less interested in job titles and more interested in whether you can actually do the job.
You're probably someone who:
- Sees a good idea and immediately starts thinking about how to make it.
- Can sit in a creative brainstorm one minute and be running a shoot the next.
- Doesn’t panic when a location falls through, talent is late or the weather decides to ruin your shot list - you’ve got solutions!
- Knows when to protect the creative idea and when to adapt it to make the production work.
- Is naturally organised but isn't afraid of a bit of chaos.
- Can confidently take charge on a shoot without taking themselves too seriously.
- Has strong opinions about content, but is open to other people's ideas.
- Understands that the best social content often isn't the most polished.
- Has an instinct for casting, talent, locations, formats and moments that will make something feel culturally relevant.
- Is curious about what people are watching, sharing and talking about.
- Wants to be involved in the doing, not just the talking.
- Has a "figure it out" mentality.
- Is comfortable working at pace and taking ownership without needing to be micromanaged.
- Is genuinely excited by the idea of making things for huge social audiences.
What success looks like
Success in this role means becoming someone the team can hand a brief to and trust to make it happen.
You'll be producing work that is creatively strong, socially relevant and properly executed, from the initial idea through to the final piece of content.
You'll be helping us make bigger and better campaigns, while making the production process sharper, smoother and more ambitious.
You'll be someone who brings ideas to the table, understands how to turn those ideas into reality and can confidently lead the process of getting them made.
Most importantly, you'll be a doer.
How to apply
We'd love to see your CV and, most importantly, your creative/production portfolio or showreel.
Show us what you've actually made.
Tell us about the shoots you've planned and led, the productions you've pulled together, the problems you've solved and the content you're proud of.
We'd also love to see examples of work where you were involved in the process from idea - production - shoot - final edit.
