About us…

smol is on a mission to change the face of consumer brands and businesses by bringing super effective, eco-friendly products at value for money prices. We believe everyone should be able to make easy swaps that are better for them, the planet, and their pockets.

Since launch, smol has taken the household cleaning market by storm. We are already the fastest growing and most positively reviewed brand in the laundry, dishwash, fabric conditioner and surface spray categories and we’ve got so much more planned.

Having received Series B investment in 2021 and B Corp certification at the end of 2023, our team is focused on combining fast growth with being a force for positive change and impact in all that we do.

In Summary...

We are looking for a creative and adaptable Designer to join the smol design team. As our brand continues to grow, we need someone who can translate commercial and marketing briefs into high-impact, thoughtful designs.

You will be responsible for executing design work across our brand, including packaging, digital assets, and print materials, helping us maintain our reputation for design excellence. As a Midweight Designer, we'd expect you to have a proven track record of handling projects with a good degree of autonomy. You are comfortable managing your own schedule, collaborating with other departments, and producing high-quality work with minimal oversight.

What does the role involve?

  • Design execution - Own and execute design projects from concept to final delivery. This includes everything from packaging and print to digital marketing assets
  • Translating briefs - Collaborate with stakeholders to understand commercial goals and turn them into compelling, high-quality visual designs.
  • Quality control - Champion high visual standards across all outputs, ensuring consistency with the smol brand.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with teams across the business (e.g. Marketing, Product) to ensure design is aligned with broader project goals.
  • Continuous Improvement - Contribute to our creative culture by sharing knowledge, inspiration, and ideas for process improvement.
  • Values and impact - Ensure that your work reflects our values as a B Corp company and our internal company values of ‘Care, Fairness and Curiosity’.
  • DE&I - Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), supporting our workplace to remain a fair and empowering environment for all.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
