Midweight .Net Developer

We’re looking for a Developer who can turn complex technical challenges into clear, maintainable solutions. At true, we help organisations solve complex problems through thoughtful, well-executed digital products.

About the Role

As a Midweight.Net Developer, you’ll be a trusted part of true’s Engineering team, helping us design, build, test and deploy thoughtful, robust digital products for our clients.

This isn’t a role for someone who only wants to pick up tickets and ship code in isolation.

It’s about understanding the problem, choosing the right technical approach, writing maintainable code, and contributing to the quality and reliability of the solutions we deliver.

Why this role exists?

We’re growing, and with that comes more ambitious, more complex client work. We need someone who can:

  • Help us deliver well-structured, maintainable CMS solutions (Optimizely and Umbraco)
  • Support the team across planning, scoping, build, testing and deployment
  • Bring sound judgement to technical decisions, balancing quality, scalability and cost-effectiveness

You’ll work across client projects and retainers, collaborating with Lead Engineers, Front-end developers, Project managers, QA and wider agency teams to build solutions that are useful, stable and easy to evolve.

What you’ll be doing

Development & technical delivery

  • Write reusable, well-considered, maintainable and extensible code across Optimizely/Umbraco CMS and associated.NET applications
  • Support the development of Optimizely/Umbraco CMS builds, upgrades, integrations and ongoing platform improvements
  • Work with Lead Engineers to turn requirements into clear development tasks and pragmatic technical solutions
  • Contribute to content modelling, CMS configuration, templates, components and editor-friendly functionality
  • Support integrations with APIs, third-party systems and Front-end applications, including headless or composable approaches where relevant
  • Help ensure our technical output is secure, performant, accessible and reliable

Planning, estimation & quality

  • Accurately estimate pieces of work and use learnings from previous projects to improve estimates over time
  • Break technical work down clearly so it can be understood, planned and delivered by the wider team
  • Write and maintain clear, concise documentation for Developers, QA and project teams to follow
  • Review, test and refine your own work before handover, helping reduce rework and protect quality
  • Raise technical risks, assumptions and dependencies early, with enough context for others to make informed decisions

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
