Bureau for Visual Affairs plans, designs and develops user-experiences across culture, fashion and lifestyle, focusing on what defines today’s institutions and brands: experience, content and relevancy. It is looking for a full-time Midweight Full-Stack Web Developer to join its team in Borough, London.
Responsibilities:
In this role you will be part of a communicative, highly skilled development team, working on a wide variety of projects from large-scale content platforms to e-commerce. You will be working with our full-stack which typically includes Node.js and Python applications, React and GraphQL. You will be directly involved with our clients and design process.
About You:
Bureau is looking for a motivated self-starter with a keen interest in technology, who enjoys the process of working with what we think is a highly interesting community of clients (see below), and a very knowledgeable and motivated team.

You should also bring with you a good eye for detail, communications skills and bring the following:
- At least 2–6 years experience, ideally within a design agency or creative startup / product team
- Knowledge of Node.js and Python
- Familiarity with React.js
- Experience with GraphQL / REST
- An interest in AI workflows
- Experience with E-commerce
- Aptitude for designing systems and problem solving
- Experience translating designs into code with a high degree of fidelity
- Good knowledge of Javascript best practices
- Experience with git
- Comfortable using command line tools

Bureau for Visual Affairs is a midsize team, working at the progressive end of digital; it prides itself on bringing together forward thinking design and cutting-edge technology for some of the most relevant and interesting resting brands and organisations. Clients include D&AD, The Crafts Council, Waitrose, and Strava.
Apart from our highly visible output, it prides itself on a good work / life balance (working hours 10am–6pm).
Salary range: £35k–£50k
