Criterion Capital is seeking a talented and motivated Midweight Interior Designer to join our growing team, working across a range of high-quality residential, hospitality and mixed-use projects.
The role will suit an Interior Designer with solid project experience who is confident taking designs from concept through to technical delivery and enjoys working closely with architects, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
You will be involved across multiple stages of the design process, contributing to the development of interior schemes while ensuring designs are practical, coordinated and delivered to a high standard.
The Role
The Midweight Interior Designer will support the development and delivery of interior design projects, working closely with the wider design and project teams to develop creative and technically considered solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop interior design concepts, schemes and design proposals in line with the project brief, budget and programme.
- Produce mood boards, material palettes, FF&E selections, presentations and design documentation.
- Develop designs from concept through to technical and construction stages.
- Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, elevations, schedules and specifications using relevant design software.
- Coordinate interior design information with architectural, MEP, structural and other consultant information.
- Work closely with architects, Design Managers, Project Managers, contractors, suppliers and specialist subcontractors.
- Attend design meetings, site meetings and project reviews, contributing to design discussions and presenting proposals where required.
- Assist with the selection, sourcing and specification of furniture, fixtures, finishes, materials and other interior elements.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain samples, quotations, technical information and lead times.
- Review samples, shop drawings and technical submissions to ensure they meet the design intent.
- Undertake site visits and assist with monitoring the implementation of interior design works.
- Identify design coordination issues and work with the wider project team to resolve them.
- Ensure design information is accurate, coordinated and issued in line with project requirements.
- Assist with managing design changes and maintaining clear records throughout the project.
- Support the Senior Interior Designer and wider design team across multiple projects and deadlines.
- Contribute creative ideas and help develop the overall design quality and identity of projects.

About You
- 3+ years' experience working in an interior design role.
- Proven experience delivering interior design projects from concept through to technical/construction stages.
- Experience within hospitality, residential, luxury residential, hotel or high-end commercial projects is desirable.
- Strong understanding of interior design principles, materials, finishes, FF&E and detailing.
- Good technical understanding and ability to develop design concepts into buildable solutions.
- Proficient in relevant design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Revit is desirable.
- Strong presentation and visual communication skills.
- Good understanding of construction processes and coordination with other disciplines.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of design output.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Well organised, proactive and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently whilst also contributing effectively to a wider team.
- A creative and commercially aware approach, with an understanding of how design decisions impact cost, programme and delivery.
