I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Play an important role in making sure ambitious creative ideas can actually be built, without losing the original creative intent.
- Help identify technical challenges early, find practical solutions, and ensure drawings, specifications, and production information are accurate and coordinated before projects move into fabrication.
Your Growth
- Work across a varied mix of creative and spatial projects alongside a multidisciplinary team.
- Continue developing your experience across technical design, fabrication, and installation, while having the space to contribute ideas and help shape how projects are technically delivered.
About You
- Ideally have around 3 to 5 years' experience across technical design, architecture, fabrication, or a related field, with a strong background in 3D design.
- Be confident using Rhino and CAD, with experience producing detailed technical drawing packages and interpreting architectural drawings.
- Have a good understanding of materials, fabrication methods, and how creative ideas translate into physical spaces, alongside experience coordinating with architects, consultants, suppliers, and fabricators.
- Experience across commercial interiors, environmental graphics, architecture, exhibitions, or experiential design would be particularly relevant.
- Knowledge of Revit or BIM would be a bonus, as would experience with document control and revision management.
- Be detail-focused, organized, and solutions-minded, with a genuine interest in figuring out how things work, how they're made, and how they can be delivered brilliantly.
