Excellent Midwives make such a difference to one of the most life changing experiences. We know that our Maternity Department would not be the success it is today without the great team that work for us.
Around 3400 babies a year are born at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust and we are proud to have been at the forefront of successful service improvements and developments including work with the Department of Health, Better Births and Baby Friendly Initiative.
We are proud of our Bluebell Birth Centre that is the place of birth for around 12 % of our women each year. Our Practice Team Midwives hold a community caseload and undertake low risk intrapartum care in our Birth Centre. We do not have an oncall system.
We have an exciting opportunity for midwives to join one of our Practice teams.
We are looking for individuals with excellent communication, who are enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed to the provision of a high quality service, ideally with a background in community but not essential.
If you’re looking to advance your career in a friendly and staff-centred environment, we’d love to hear from you, give one of us a call if you would like more information.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
