MiFIR Transactions and Trade Reporting Specialist

Outside IR35, initial 3 month contract

Immediate/ASAP start

We're supporting a fintech on an search for an experienced MiFIR transaction and trade reporting specialist to lead a reporting remediation project. Our client has identified a gap in their MiFIR reporting and needs a contractor to come in and fix it - this is a hands-on, implementation-focused role, not an advisory one.

What you'll do

  • Diagnose the root cause(s) of the identified reporting gap across the instruments in scope
  • Design and implement the remediation approach, including any back-reporting or corrections required
  • Review transaction reporting logic against MiFIR requirements (RTS 22 field-level requirements) for both UK MiFIR and EU MiFIR, and identify where the two regimes diverge
  • Work with data/engineering teams to fix underlying data quality or mapping issues driving the gap
  • Document the remediation for audit and regulatory purposes
  • Liaise with Compliance, Legal, and Operations stakeholders as needed

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Experience running or contributing to a reporting remediation, back-reporting exercise, or similar regulatory fix
  • Comfortable working with data - able to interrogate reporting datasets, spot patterns/root causes, and work with SQL or similar tools (adjust to your actual requirement)
