Role Description
The Migration Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Cardiff, responsible for planning and overseeing data and system migration activities across energy infrastructure and related platforms. This role manages end-to-end migration projects, including scoping requirements, coordinating technical teams, and aligning timelines with business and client needs. The Migration Manager works closely with stakeholders to assess existing systems, design migration strategies, and mitigate risks related to data integrity, system performance, and operational continuity.

- Tracking project progress

- Providing clear communication and reporting to leadership and customers
The role also involves collaborating with consulting and integration teams to optimize migration processes and support continuous improvement in SMS Energy’s service delivery.
Qualifications
- Strong Consulting skills, including stakeholder engagement, requirements gathering, and solution-oriented communication.
- Proven Project Management experience leading end-to-end migration or implementation projects in a technical or infrastructure-focused environment.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure domains relevant to energy or utilities, with the ability to understand system dependencies and operational impacts.
- Experience with Integration activities, including coordinating between multiple systems, platforms, and vendors to ensure seamless transitions.
- Hands-on experience in Data Migration, including planning, validation, testing, and troubleshooting to safeguard data quality and integrity.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and a focus on risk management.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with energy sector operations, smart technologies, or low-carbon solutions is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as IT, engineering, data management, or business.
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches) is an advantage.
