Legal Executive / Solicitor (1–3 PQE)
An established claimant Top 100 firm is looking to recruit a Chartered Legal Executive or Solicitor to join its specialist Military department, based in Cardiff with hybrid working.
The team is dedicated to ensuring serving and former service personnel have access to the specialist legal advice they need when the Ministry of Defence has failed in its duty of care. The department advises on a wide range of military-related claims, including military deafness and cold and heat injuries, acting for clients across England and Wales.
The wider department is sizeable, with around 60 lawyers and support staff, but work is delivered through smaller, focused teams. This role will sit within a supportive and well-resourced structure, offering hands-on experience alongside experienced supervisors.
The Role
This position focuses on managing a litigated caseload of multitrack personal injury claims and would suit someone comfortable running files with a good degree of autonomy, while still having access to senior support.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
