About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fee Earner to join our Military Claims and Industrial Disease department. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious legal professional to join a well-established claimant practice with genuine opportunities for career progression.

The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of litigated industrial disease claims, with a particular focus on claims brought by military personnel and veterans. The role requires excellent technical knowledge, strong litigation experience and a client-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of litigated industrial disease claims from inception through to settlement or trial.
  • Handle a broad range of industrial disease matters, including:
    • Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL)
    • Non-Freezing Cold Injury (NFCI)
    • Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI)
    • Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS)
    • Occupational Asthma
    • Display Screen Equipment (DSE) claims
    • Other occupational and military-related disease claims
  • Prepare court documentation, witness statements and schedules of loss.
  • Instruct and liaise with medical experts, counsel and other third parties.
  • Conduct settlement negotiations and attend hearings where appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal procedures.
  • Deliver an exceptional level of client care throughout the life of each claim.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience handling litigated industrial disease claims.
  • Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and the Pre-Action Protocol.
  • Experience dealing with one or more of the disease types listed above.
  • Excellent organisational and case management skills.
  • Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
  • The ability to manage a busy caseload whilst maintaining high standards of client care.
  • Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or experienced Litigation Executive/Fee Earner (qualification is desirable but not essential where equivalent experience can be demonstrated).
