Milk & Effluent Treatment Plant Technician
Bridgwater | Full-Time | Permanent
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (2 Days / 2 Nights)
We are looking for a motivated and proactive individual to join our Bridgwater site as a Milk & Effluent Treatment Plant Technician.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership, working independently, and solving problems. While experience in water treatment, effluent treatment, laboratory work, or asset care would be advantageous, we are equally interested in candidates with the right attitude and a willingness to learn.
You'll play a key role in supporting the safe and efficient operation of our Effluent Treatment Plant, helping us maintain environmental standards and ensuring the smooth running of site operations.
What You'll Be Doing
- Operating and monitoring the Effluent Treatment Plant
- Supporting day-to-day site environmental operations
- Recording and analysing plant data
- Identifying issues and escalating concerns where required
- Carrying out routine equipment checks and basic maintenance activities
- Maintaining accurate records and compliance documentation
- Working with production, engineering, and external contractors to support plant performance
- Driving continuous improvement and helping to identify better ways of working

What We're Looking For
Essential
- A proactive, positive approach to work
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of tasks
- Good problem-solving and organisational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to learn new processes and systems
- Good communication skills
- Flexibility to work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights)
Desirable
- Experience in water treatment, effluent treatment, utilities, or environmental operations
- Laboratory experience, including sampling, testing, and recording results
- Asset care or basic maintenance experience
- Experience within FMCG, manufacturing, food, or dairy environments
