About The Role
Forest Green Rovers are seeking a reliable and professional D1 Driver to support the safe and efficient transport of Academy players (15-18), staff, and authorized club personnel.
The D1 Driver will be responsible for driving club minibuses to training sessions, fixtures, and on occasions, education provisions. The post holder will ensure all journeys are completed safely, professionally, and in accordance with club safeguarding, health and safety, and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport Academy players, staff, and authorized club personnel to and from training, matches, tournaments, educational provision, and other club activities.
- Ensure all passengers are collected and delivered according to agreed schedules and operational requirements.
- Take responsibility for the safety, welfare, and comfort of passengers throughout all journeys.
- Assist in maintaining the roadworthiness of club vehicles.
- Report vehicle defects, incidents, accidents, or near misses promptly in accordance with club procedures.
- Support Academy and Club Operations through the transportation of equipment, kit, documents, and other club resources where required.
- Represent Forest Green Rovers professionally when interacting with players, parents, opposition clubs, match officials.
- Adhere to all safeguarding, health and safety, data protection, and club policies.
- Attend mandatory club training and development activities as required.
- Maintain confidentiality in relation to players, staff, club operations, and any sensitive information.

About You
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- Full, clean UK driving licence with D1 entitlement (unrestricted preferred).
- DBS (or ability to obtain one)
- Experience driving minibuses or similar passenger vehicles.
- Strong understanding of road safety and passenger welfare responsibilities.
- Ability to carry out routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities when working with children and young people.
