Job Title: Minibus Driver

Location: Hydesville Tower School, Walsall, WS1 2QG

Salary: £16,700.15 per annum (not pro rata)

Hours: 32 hours per week | Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

Start: November 2026

About The School

Hydesville Tower School is a successful 2-16 co-educational independent day school, part of the Outcomes First Group. We offer small class sizes, exceptional behaviour, and a strong pastoral ethos, alongside a clear focus on academic excellence.

Role Purpose

We're looking for a Minibus Driver to join our team, providing safe and professional transport for our students. This is more than just a driving role. You'll be a friendly face each day, helping students travel to and from school safely while building positive relationships with families and colleagues.

As a Minibus Driver, you will be responsible for transporting students safely and efficiently, ensuring every journey is delivered with the highest standards of care, professionalism and customer service.

You'll play a vital role in supporting students' attendance, wellbeing and access to education, while representing the school positively within the local community.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Safely transport students to and from school and other approved locations.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
  • Ensure passenger safety and compliance with all transport and road safety regulations.
  • Carry out vehicle checks and promptly report any defects, hazards or concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with driver hours, CPC and transport regulations.
  • Support the school's safeguarding culture by reporting any concerns appropriately.

What You Will Bring

  • Hold a full UK driving licence (minimum 24 months), D1 PCV entitlement and valid Driver CPC.
  • Experienced in driving passenger-carrying vehicles safely and professionally.
  • A confident communicator who builds positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
  • Flexible, reliable and able to adapt to changing situations.
  • Committed to providing excellent customer service and maintaining high safety standards.
  • Dedicated to safeguarding, wellbeing and supporting young people.
