Job Purpose
As an MIS, Data and Funding Compliance Officer, you will lead the management of learner data, funding compliance, performance reporting, and management information systems for West Sussex Adult Learning Service. The role focuses on ensuring funding compliance, audit readiness, data quality, and accurate reporting to support service planning and funding optimisation.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
- Lead and develop MIS systems and management information processes.
- Manage ILR (Individualised Learner Record) submissions.
- Oversee funding returns and compliance monitoring activities.
- Maintain data quality assurance procedures.
- Produce dashboards, reports, and management information for senior leaders.
- Support curriculum planning and funding forecasting.
- Prepare for audits, inspections, and funding assurance reviews.
- Monitor compliance with ESFA funding rules and requirements.
- Identify and mitigate compliance, performance, and funding risks.
- Support quality improvement activities.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to improve reporting and performance monitoring.
- Ensure learner data is accurate, complete, and audit-ready.

Essential Experience Required
- Strong experience in:
- MIS (Management Information Systems)
- Learner Data Management
- Funding Compliance
- ILR Administration
- Further Education or Adult Education data systems
- Detailed knowledge of:
- ESFA Funding Rules
- ILR Requirements
- Funding Assurance Processes
- Post-16 and Post-19 Funding
- Experience with:
- Data Analysis
- Dashboard Reporting
- Compliance Monitoring
- Audit Preparation
- Performance Reporting
- Funding Forecasting
- Advanced IT and analytical skills.
- Experience interpreting complex performance and funding data.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and external partners.

Essential Qualifications / Requirements
- Relevant MIS and funding compliance experience.
- Basic DBS.
- Right to Work in the UK.
- All relevant qualifications verified.
Additional Information to Note
- Location: County Hall, Chichester.
- 37 hours per week
- Basic DBS Required.
- Smart Casual dress code.
- We work on a bi-weekly payment schedule.
