About the Role
The Diocese of Ipswich and St Edmundsbury’s Mission and Ministry Team seeks to support the making of new disciples of all ages in both parish churches and fresh expressions of church. The team is currently looking for an efficient and experienced Administrator to help it deliver its objectives.
Reporting into the Senior Administrator, the successful candidate will provide valuable team administrative support e.g. calendar management, maintaining filing systems, responding to queries and managing a shared email inbox. You’ll also play a key role in organising, publicising and sometimes attending the many training events run by the team across the diocese.
The role is very varied and will also involve internal meeting organisation and minute taking, processing invoices and engaging with clergy, lay ministers, Archdeacons and colleagues from the Bishops Office to ensure that licensing, DBS and safeguarding paperwork is accurate and up to date.
To that end, we are looking for a friendly, engaging and experienced Administrator to join the team. You’ll need to be well-organised, flexible and willing to assume ownership and responsibility for specific tasks, as well as working in close collaboration with the Senior Administrator to deliver key tasks in a timely manner and to changing deadlines. You’ll have experience of managing diaries and arranging meetings with multiple stakeholders, be a confident but sensitive communicator and be competent with Microsoft 365.

The postholder will be primarily based at the Diocesan Office in Ipswich but will need to be willing to travel across the diocese to attend meetings and events. As such, access to a vehicle and a full driving license would be advantageous.
You do not need to be a practicing Christian to undertake this role, but being sympathetic to the aims of the Church of England and the Christian faith would be mutually beneficial. This is a fantastic and rewarding opportunity for an experienced and organised administrator looking to join and support a busy and committed team.
