About the Company

Mistek are a specialised UK-based fire suppression company founded in 2016 and headquartered in Rochester, Kent. They specialise in the installation of the automist® fire suppression system, which was the first and leading domestic fire suppression system. Due to recent company growth, they are now looking to recruit a brand new fire engineer to join their team!

Job Description

As an apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to install, maintain and fault-find on the following systems:

  • Fire Protection
  • Fire Suppression
  • Fire Alarms
  • Traditional Sprinkler Systems

  • Desire to learn more about the wider fire engineering industry
  • Grade 4 in Maths and English at GCSE (or equivalent) or above
  • A driving license is required if you are 21 and above, as the company insurance policy only covers drivers 21+
  • Plumbing experience would be a bonus
  • Electrical experience would be a bonus
  • Comfortable working at height, due to the nature of the role

Training to be Provided

This is where you'll learn the skills that employers actually want.

Your apprenticeship training is delivered by Skills for Security, specialists in fire and security training.

You’ll train through block release at our Dagenham centre, for one week every eight weeks (Tuesday–Friday).

You’ll work towards a Level 3 Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Technician apprenticeship, gaining real skills and a nationally recognised qualification.

What you’ll do as part of the programme:

  • Train hands-on with real systems
  • Learn from industry experts
  • Complete a wide range of tasks and projects
  • Build evidence from your job to support your learning
  • Sit annual assessments at the centre
