Senior Tax Associate / Tax Manager - Tax Advisory
The Role Our client is expanding its tax advisory team and is seeking a Senior Tax Associate or Tax Manager to join its Liverpool office.
This is a pure tax advisory role, focused on supporting owner-managed businesses (OMBs) and high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs). There is no routine compliance work, allowing you to focus on delivering high-quality tax advice and developing your technical expertise.
The position can be tailored to suit either an experienced Manager or a strong Senior Associate looking to progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tax advisory assignments for OMBs and HNWIs from initial scoping through to final recommendations.
- Advise on areas including:
- Company reorganisations and restructurings
- Share schemes and employee incentives
- Holding company structures
- Inheritance tax and succession planning
- Capital gains tax and business transactions
- Conduct technical research and apply UK tax legislation, HMRC guidance and case law.
- Prepare clear, well-structured reports and recommendations.
- Build and manage client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser.
- Identify planning opportunities and support wider business development initiatives.
- Manage engagements to budget and deadlines.

At Manager level, you will also:
- Take ownership of advisory projects from scoping to delivery.
- Review and develop junior team members.
- Assist with fee proposals and engagement planning.
About You:
- CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified, or part-qualified with strong progression towards qualification.
- Experience working with OMBs, HNWIs, or in a corporate tax environment.
- Strong technical knowledge in one or more areas such as restructurings, share schemes, IHT planning, CGT, property taxation, or residence and domicile matters.
- Excellent report-writing, analytical and communication skills.
- Able to manage a varied workload with minimal supervision.
- Previous experience reviewing junior staff and preparing fee proposals would be advantageous.
