Tax Manager Opportunity in Swindon

Are you an experienced tax professional looking for a role that combines technical expertise, client interaction, and career progression? I'm working exclusively with a highly regarded and growing accountancy practice in Swindon that is looking to appoint a Mixed Tax Manager to join its established tax team.

This opportunity would suit an ambitious tax professional with a strong background in both personal and corporate taxation, although the role carries a particular focus on corporate tax compliance work for a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and larger corporate clients. The role aligns with responsibilities typically associated with a Tax Manager, including oversight of tax compliance, management of client deadlines, technical support, and risk management.

The Opportunity

As a Mixed Tax Manager, you will manage a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring the delivery of high-quality tax compliance services while also providing advisory support where required. Working closely with Partners and senior stakeholders, you will play an important role in developing client relationships and supporting junior members of the tax team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
