Biscuit International UK is the leading specialist supplier of own-label gluten-free biscuits and cookies in the United Kingdom. Located in Gateshead, our production facility operates three lines, with an annual output exceeding 4,300 tonnes annually in plain, chocolate, and sandwich biscuit formats. We are part of Biscuit International, Europe’s leading private label biscuit and bread substitute manufacturer, with a rich heritage of over 400 years of expertise in delivering excellent taste at great value.

We’re seeking a Mixer to join our Production team in Gateshead and support the accurate preparation and mixing of ingredients for dough production.

Reporting to the Product Team Lead, this role is responsible for weighing, measuring and mixing raw materials in line with recipe specifications, food safety standards and traceability requirements to ensure consistent product quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Weigh and measure ingredients accurately in line with recipe sheets
  • Follow correct batch sheets and mixing procedures
  • Carry out physical checks on raw materials and report non-conformances
  • Use raw materials in strict date rotation and in line with documentation
  • Operate mixing equipment and adjust controls as required
  • Check dough consistency against specifications
  • Record batch and mixing data accurately on all required documentation
  • Follow traceability, allergen, nut handling and gluten-free procedures
  • Maintain hygiene standards and clean-as-you-go practices
  • Adhere to all health & safety procedures, PPE and manual handling guidelines
  • Support other production areas when required

Skills & Experience

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Experience in food manufacturing or food handling
  • Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow recipes, specifications and procedures accurately
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills
  • Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Level 2 Food Safety (provided by the business)
  • Level 2 Health & Safety and Manual Handling desirable
