About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Software Engineer to join our innovative team on a full-time basis for an initial period of four months, with the possibility of extension for an additional three months pending approval. This role is part of an exciting UK/Singapore project funded by InnovateUK, titled Safety with Sensor AI and Network Environments for the Construction Industry (Saine-CI). Led by Dr. Tillman Weyde in collaboration with AITIS Ltd and Iknaia Ltd, the project focuses on designing, developing, and evaluating AI-driven construction safety systems that leverage knowledge graphs in conjunction with machine learning models applied to camera and sensor data. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in advancing the development of innovative safety solutions that utilize knowledge-based evaluation methods to enhance construction site safety through AI and sensor technologies.

Qualifications
- A Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Proficiency in Python programming language
- Experience with Semantic Web technologies such as OWL and RDF
- Knowledge of logic and knowledge representation techniques
- Experience in developing and evaluating AI and machine learning models
- Familiarity with sensor data, video, and audio data processing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement methods for knowledge-based evaluation of machine learning models applied to construction site data
- Create and manage knowledge representations using OWL and RDF technologies
- Evaluate AI safety systems in live construction environments to ensure robustness and reliability
- Collaborate with project partners and stakeholders to refine system functionalities
- Conduct research and stay updated on emerging trends in AI, semantic web, and sensor technologies
- Document technical processes, methodologies, and project progress effectively
- Provide technical support and expertise during system deployment and testing phases
