Job Title: MLD Learning Support Assistant : Secondary and FE College
Locations: Walthamstow and Romford
Pay Rate: GBP95.00 : GBP100.00 per day (PAYE / Weekly Pay)
Contract: Full-Time / Part-Time (Long-Term)
About The Role
Are you an engaging and patient support worker looking to empower teenage learners? Randstad Education is seeking MLD Learning Support Assistants to work alongside dedicated teaching staff across Secondary Schools and FE Colleges in Walthamstow and Romford.
You will support students aged 11-19+ who have Moderate Learning Difficulties, helping them access GCSEs, vocational courses, functional skills, and social independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer 1:1 and classroom-based academic support to simplify curriculum tasks and build understanding.
- Help pupils develop functional literacy, numeracy, and life skills for adulthood.
- Assist with personal care and wellbeing routines where specified in student care plans.
- Monitor student progress, keep records, and liaise with SENCos and tutors.

Requirements
- Essential: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service covering BOTH Child and Adult Workforce, or a commitment for one through Randstad.
- Previous experience supporting MLD or general SEN in schools, youth work, or residential care.
- Willingness to assist with personal care if required by specific student care plans.
- Strong literacy, numeracy, and interpersonal skills.
