About the Client

Our client is a high-risk payment platform operating as a PSP across complex and regulated industries, including fintech, crypto, gambling, digital services, payment facilitators, wallets, and other high-risk sectors.

The company provides acquiring, payouts, multi-currency accounts, and banking rails within a single infrastructure. It holds licenses in both Europe and the UK and is a Principal Member of Visa and Mastercard, enabling direct acquiring and issuing capabilities.

Role Overview

Join as the MLRO/CRO and take charge of shaping the compliance landscape in a dynamic fintech environment. This role offers the opportunity to lead anti-money laundering (AML) ensuring adherence to global standards. You'll be instrumental in managing compliance strategies and driving the company's mission to maintain integrity and trust in financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the appointed MLRO and oversee the AML/CFT compliance framework.
  • Maintain and enhance AML, KYC, sanctions, and transaction monitoring policies.
  • Review and approve high-risk customers and complex onboarding cases.
  • Ensure compliance with European and UK regulatory requirements.
  • Manage relationships with regulators, banking partners, Visa, and Mastercard on compliance matters.
  • Provide AML guidance and training across the business.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of AML/Compliance experience within payments, fintech, EMI, PSP, or crypto.
  • Previous experience as an MLRO or Deputy MLRO.
  • Strong knowledge of AML/CFT, sanctions, KYC, and financial crime regulations.
  • Experience with high-risk merchants and regulated payment products.
  • Languages: English
  • Experience in fintech
