An exceptional opportunity has arisen with a growing financial services business who are looking to appoint an experienced MLRO & Compliance Manager, based in London.
Our client is a specialist lending business at an important stage of its development. This is an opportunity to join the business at an exciting time and play a key role in shaping and strengthening its compliance and financial crime framework as it continues to grow.
This is a broad, hands-on role combining MLRO responsibility with wider compliance oversight, with the opportunity to take ownership of the firm's AML and compliance framework and work closely with senior management to further develop its policies, controls and governance.
Key responsibilities:
- Acting as MLRO with oversight of AML and financial crime risk
- Developing and enhancing compliance and AML policies, procedures and controls
- Providing regulatory and compliance advice to the business and senior management
- Supporting compliance monitoring, risk assessments and regulatory reporting
- Overseeing CDD, EDD and wider financial crime controls
- Supporting regulatory engagement and strengthening governance and oversight
- Identifying areas for improvement across the existing compliance framework and implementing practical enhancements
- Keeping senior management informed of key compliance and financial crime risks and regulatory developments

The successful candidate will have experience as an MLRO with broader Compliance oversight, coupled with strong knowledge of UK AML and regulatory requirements and a proven track record of developing and enhancing compliance frameworks. Experience within lending, specialist finance, payments, fintech, banking or wider financial services would be advantageous.

You will be comfortable operating in a hands-on environment, able to work autonomously and confident working closely with senior stakeholders. Strong technical knowledge, sound judgement and a practical approach to developing and embedding effective compliance and financial crime controls will be key. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced compliance and financial crime professional to join a growing business, work closely with senior management and have a genuine influence on the continued development of its compliance and financial crime framework.
