About Xace
Xace is a global, multi-licensed finance infrastructure group, providing business accounts, international payments, cards, treasury, FX, safeguarding and financial technology to companies operating worldwide.
Originally built for the iGaming sector, the Xace Group works with more than 1,000 brands, including the industry's leading names.
Xace's technology arm delivers market-leading, module-based technology with hundreds of features, designed for multiple industries and used by other regulated fintechs.
The role
We are looking for a Money Laundering Reporting Officer who will own our financial crime framework. The role suits someone who holds genuine regulatory and statutory authority as MLRO, and who has hands-on experience in maintaining onboarding and monitoring workflows to screening and case management.
You will hold the MLRO function for Xace's FCA-authorised entity, with accountability for AML, CTF and sanctions compliance extending across the wider group of companies it supports.
Key responsibilities
- Act as MLRO for Xace's FCA-authorised entity, holding statutory responsibility for AML, CTF and sanctions compliance, and extending oversight to the group companies it supports
- Work hands-on across transaction monitoring and screening, designing and configuring detection rules and scenarios directly inside the platform rather than only briefing others on requirements
- Continuously review and improve the effectiveness of screening, monitoring and case management, testing changes, reducing false positives and closing gaps as they emerge
- Build and maintain compliance MI and reporting from Sumsub and other sources, for the Board, regulators and senior management
- Own the Sumsub end-to-end as the core system: configure and maintain workflows, build and automate onboarding, KYC/KYB and monitoring, adapt rules and thresholds, and drive constant improvements
- Lead business-wide, customer and product risk assessments, with particular attention to iGaming risk typologies
- Review, approve and submit SARs, and oversee financial crime investigations from escalation through to closure
- Own CDD/EDD and onboarding decisioning workflows within Sumsub, escalating to engineering only where a change genuinely sits outside the platform
- Act as primary liaison with the FCA, including notifications, information requests and reports
- Own and evolve AML/CTF/compliance/risk policies and procedures, and deliver training across the group
- Partner with product and engineering to embed compliance-by-design into new features, monitoring tools and reporting pipelines
- Conduct new and existing banking partner audits
- Act as the point of contact for law enforcement and NCA requests

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
