About The Role

We are seeking an exceptional Android engineer to become a vital part of our small, high-impact team focused on creating the world's most valuable AI application. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge mobile experiences that directly influence user engagement and satisfaction. As an Android engineer at SpaceXAI, you will be responsible for shaping innovative solutions, blending technical mastery with a keen product sense to deliver intuitive and delightful user interfaces. You will tackle the most critical technical challenges at any given time, taking ownership of large areas of the product and ensuring optimal performance, stability, and reliability. This position requires a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute directly to our mission of advancing AI technology through impactful mobile applications.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess proficiency in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and reactive programming paradigms, demonstrating a strong command of modern Android development tools. A solid product sense and high craftsmanship standards are essential, with experience in architecting large-scale production apps that embody technical excellence. Candidates should have a strong sense of ownership and agency, capable of multitasking and taking responsibility for extensive areas of the project. Additionally, the ability to optimize for performance, stability, and reliability is crucial. Preferred qualifications include a proven track record of shipping standout apps or features that showcase both technical skills and exceptional product intuition, along with deep expertise in the Android ecosystem and related development tools such as Android Studio and Gradle. Experience with Rust for backend integration is also advantageous.

Responsibilities

As an Android engineer at SpaceXAI, your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality mobile applications that align with our AI-driven goals. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into technical solutions, ensuring seamless user experiences. Your role will involve architecting scalable and efficient app architectures, implementing new features, and troubleshooting complex technical issues. You will also be expected to optimize app performance, enhance stability, and improve overall user engagement. Regular code reviews, documentation, and adherence to best practices are integral parts of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will contribute to continuous improvement processes, stay updated with the latest Android development trends, and actively participate in brainstorming sessions to innovate and refine our mobile offerings.
