Mobile App Tech Lead (React Native) – iOS & Android
Contract | Remote | £700–750 per day | Outside IR35, initial 12 months with extensions!
ASAP start
A well-established, globally recognised organisation is looking for a Mobile App Tech Lead to own the technical direction of its React Native application across iOS and Android, with scope to support related mobile products in the wider portfolio.
This is a high-visibility role on a major upcoming release, working alongside a strong existing team and two vendor partners going through final selection. You'll set the architecture, hold the line on engineering standards, and act as the technical bridge between the delivery partner and internal backend teams. Coding isn't the day job here (the vendor builds), but you'll need enough hands-on background to review code, challenge architecture decisions, and speak with real authority on performance, scalability and security.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What matters most for this one: you're someone who builds relationships easily, works well across a large project team, and can push backend partners for what you need without creating friction. Strong technical judgement is essential, but how you communicate and collaborate is what will set you apart.
What you'll be doing:
- Owning mobile architecture, integration and engineering governance end to end
- Reviewing external vendor delivery: solution quality, technical risk, and code review where needed
- Acting as the key link between the delivery partner and internal backend/platform teams, agreeing API contracts and resolving blockers
- Leading technical discovery and feasibility work alongside Product, BAs and designers
- Defining the mobile testing strategy and overseeing quality controls
- Representing the mobile product in technical governance and planning forums
- Mentoring engineers and supporting a faster-paced, ship-often delivery culture

What we're looking for:
- Proven experience leading the architecture and delivery of React Native apps across iOS and Android, including integration with enterprise platforms and APIs
- Strong technical leadership: setting architecture, defining engineering standards, overseeing code quality and governance
- A confident, collaborative communicator who works well with internal teams, external partners and non-technical stakeholders alike
- Comfortable operating at pace on a fast-moving, high-visibility project rather than a slow, highly process-driven one
- Vendor oversight experience is a plus but not essential, since there's dedicated delivery management support in place
Remote working, day rate £700–750, and a start date as soon as possible for the right candidate. Strong potential to extend well beyond the initial term.
